Season after season, year after year, there will always be a straight line straight through menswear. Always a stylists’ top choice, the gentleman’s closet wouldn’t be complete without at least a striped t-shirt! Be it a button down, a sweater, or a tie, stripes are going nowhere fast.

Thom Browne has done some eccentric styling for his striped looks, and you can always trust Paris’ Jean Paul Gaultier to bring a  clean stripe in some form to the runway, along with Givenchy, and even Alexander McQueen. We also spotted a casual striped pant on the catwalk for Tommy Hilfiger. Alright alright, it’s pretty much impossible NOT to see stripes in all the major shows!

A tried and true pal of Hollywoods leading men from Ryan Gosling to Marlon Brando, stripes are always fresh and defyingly edgy. Sexy, whether thin or thick, we love to see a handsome man rocking a crisp stripe anywhere in the world. You don’t need a thick wallet to capitalize on this look- this is a look that’s mall cool, and boutique chic!

Truly reaching men from all walks of life over time, be it for taste or necessity, it’s a look that could balance on the tightrope of the Circus, and be locked up in a Jailhouse. Stripes are a conventional look which have always been favoured by the unfavourable.

Today or Tomorrow, new or old, stripes are a staple we wouldn’t want to live without. From street style chic to looks with a retro influence, we love a stripe. And that’s the bottom line.
