e.o.f. snapshot of the day {November 29, 2019}

The struggle is real. More and more everyday we ponder the {FUTURE} of humanity . . . and it doesn’t always seem to most promising. If we’re not careful, we could be the next on the endangered species list!

This anxiety has been prevalent throughout history, but with the growing attention on artificial intelligence and its impact on society. Indeed, many jobs have been and will soon be replaced by a computer, and robot technology has already been implemented in many workplaces all around the world. And lot’s not even start with Sophia…

This is image is from “The Southwest Radio Church” circa. 1980. What a bizarre image…notice the “666” – the mark of the beast! Considering the shape technology (computers, the internet, and the advent of social media) has taken, it seems impossible to remove the notion that perhaps its not too far off from the truth.

We also have 1984 – obviously a nod to George Orwell’s dystopian classic of the same name. Whilst Big Brother began as a fictional concept, a world where your every move and thought is monitored truly isn’t that far off. Indeed, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has already admitted that our “private” information is constantly monitored and even sold on our behalf. China is already using face recognition technology and fervent surveillance to watch over every move of their citizens…

It’s funny that this image warns of the Computer’s eminent approach, though it was made far before all these things seemed within the tangible realm of possibility! They hadn’t even heard of the world wide web (www) . . . but that’s a whole other topic.

Just some food for thought, as always…
