{MUSIC MINUTE} “In Bloom” – Nirvana

giphy-3

The Eye of Faith is IN BLOOM !!!

Prepping for Supercrawl 2016, we have a lot of exciting things coming up the woodwork!

Just want to give a huge thank you to our friends and fans for all the support and love over the years, and especially the dedicated readers who have been there since day one! Its hard to believe we are creeping on five years….

From the modest blog we began to explore the past, and the things we love, to where we are now, is just mind blowing.

So, THANK YOU.

This year has been especially busy, so its been really hard to keep up with writing articles for the website, as well as do all the amazing creative things we have been afforded the opportunity to do in our community, but hopefully we will get a breather soon, as there is a shit load of inspiration we are dying to share with the WWW.

We are especially amused by this classic music video for Nirvana and their iconic song “In Bloom” circa 1992!!!

A perfect example of the {past} influencing the {present} and shaping the {future}. In this case, its a double whammy of {past} influence with 90s style icons Nirvana taking on that classic 50s Buddy Holly vibe.

Also, a pretty sweet chill-out summer jam.

Can you believe, the summer might almost be over?!

HELL NO.

If you are a Nirvana fan, you might be interested to read our exclusive interview with Chad Channing who was the original drummer for the band in the late 80s!

{MUSIC MINUTE – Super Summer Jams Edition } Dennis Wilson’s “RIVER SONG”

denniswilsonchristinemcvie

A new film entitled “Love & Mercy” has just been released starring Paul Dano as Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson. And today on “The View”, Brian Wilson admitted he has never once been surfing in his entire life!

Indeed, it was his bad ass boy brother Dennis who served as the true muse behind the vibe that would make The Beach Boys sore to meteoric heights, and ultimate icon status. But little do most people know that Dennis Wilson was a righteous pioneer of music in his own right!

In 1977 he released “Pacific Ocean Blue” which featured this – an all-time ultimate summer song entitled “River Song”, which showcases Dennis’ unique musical stylings and unending talent.

Sadly, Dennis Wilson would be found dead in the Marina Del Rey on December 28, 1983. To read more on this idol of style and life be sure to read our E.O.F. STYLE IDOL: Dennis Wilson {THE BAD BEACH BOY} for tons of content to muse and conjure the spirit!

{MUSIC MINUTE} You’ve Got the Music in You. . . Don’t You? Lana Del Rey’s Visions of the “West Coast”

Lana Del Rey's vision of the west coast is on fire

Lana Del Rey is hot.

She’s got the body electric, and the voice of Marilyn. And how can we not love a girl who is always bringing vintage inspired fashion and style to the forefront of today.

She is an embodiment of the {PAST}, {PRESENT}, and {FUTURE} and that’s why we love her.

Her latest single “West Coast” gives us the moody blues, a bit of a Lynchian edge, and a new frequency of cool malaise that shows off Lana’s knack for evolution in all rights. For an artist today, and in any era, this is often the key. I guess that’s the story of life itself.

It’s your choice really.

Kick it to this hot summer jam, and take a think, and tell us what you thought in the COMMENTS below.

Until next time,

Music Minute: Jack White & Wanda Jackson – Black Cab Sessions

The Black Cab Sessions is a series of one-song performances by musicians and poets recorded in the back of a black cab and filmed for an internet audience. A ‘blackcab’ is a taxicab that’s common to Britain.  These sessions are always good, but this one is particularly great!

The motto of the Black Cab Sessions is “one song, one take, one cab.”

We find Jack White to be quite the revolutionist when it comes to his musical styling. And we adore him because helped reintroduce some of the greatest artists to a fad stricken America. We want to take a minute to show you all this ‘Black Cab’ Jam-sesh with iconic Wanda Jackson.

We get a glimpse on some of Wanda’s reflections on her music, her life, and some insight about the King himself; Elvis!  Oh, and if that wasn’t enough to get a person interested, the cab driver during this session is John C Reilly.
