Christmas, Christmas Time is Here…

Our Very Vintage Christmas has arrived, and not a moment too soon! Been dying to share some lost memories, as mentioned earlier.

No fancy video, but enjoy the song as you peruse the small collection of X-mas fun and fancy. Couldn’t not, really. Looking forward to bringing more Vintage joys into the new year!

Check out the past!

Twas the Night Before Xmas….Well Almost.

Have you finished your holiday shopping yet?

Few more stops, and we’ll be there! It’s hard to believe believe that in only a few nights that Jolly Man in Red will appear! Hope he can find his way without a chimney….

Something makes me think he knows a lot more about the real world than we can even begin to imagine! Talk about Hyperspace . . . All I know is, no matter what we’re celebrating, we can all come together to celebrate our love, life, and family.

Being a vintage company, we’re looking forward to a Very Vintage Xmas this year! Hope you are too! There’s something comforting in bringing the past with you, especially during the Holidays! It’s the best time to visit old memories, perhaps some lost ones too.

We hope you’re all having fun out there, and always appreciate the support. So, here’s one for all of you out there:

Enjoy!

Christmas Wrapping

With the joy of the Christmas season around the corner, you better believe we have some christmas wrapping to tend to. The Eye brings you some holiday cheer from the 80’s in the form of The Waitresses!

And Just because… Here’s a cool vintage ad featuring ol’Saint Nick!

E.O.F. Approved: Vintage Mens 1940s/1950s Tiger Sweater

Anyone who thinks vintage shopping is all drab and dust has got it all wrong. Case in point, this handsome 1940s/1950s era ‘Bud Berma’ Sweater with Tiger!

‘Bud Berma’ is one of the original purveyors of menswear in America, and while I’ve mostly seen your typical flannel checks from the brand, this is definitely one rare and unique catch! We’re always on the hunt, like vintage fashion predators, looking for the coolest finds.

Be the one on the prowl! Love the emerald green tiger everywhere, and definitely love those Varsity stripes. This is Academic style with an edge. You could take your look anywhere with this one: clean cut, grunge, rockabilly, punk, or preppy- it’s all up to you how you’re feeling. Definitely something fun to accessorize too. You’ll be turning heads, for sure!

This super cool find is currently up for grabs, but don’t take too long, there seems to be a lot of interest! Click here for it to be yours.

E.O.F. Approved: Take Ivy! [Vintage 1930s/40s ‘Princeton’ Mens Sweater]

Take Ivy is right, ladies and gentlemen. The epitome of style, the roots of civilization (as we know it), stems from the halls of the Great American Ivy League Schools. Princeton is no exception, and there’s a chance to own a piece of the tradition here.

Great vintage wear to it, and I absolutely love the bright orange ‘P’. Very cool!

The neckline is very nice, as well. Love the way it’s knit. Can’t recall seeing anything like that on store shelves today.

The best thing about vintage is these things can be yours! To buy , click here. But quick before it’s too late!

You’ll definitely be a Dapper-Dan. Who named it the Depression anyway?

Simplicity is always key! Doesn’t take an Ivy League education to know that, just some Ivy Style. For more Ivy Style we reccomend Teroyushi Hayashida’s photo documentation of the American Ivy League during it’s heydey in “Take Ivy”.

First published in 1965, the book became a cult hit in Japan, with it’s showcasing of hundreds of authentic Ivy League looks.  For a long while, the book was out of publication, and has only last year come back into print. Each page is amazing, lush, and detailed; setting you up for thousands of your own stories of life behind Ivy League walls…

Grab your own copy, or head to Amazon to get the perfect gift for that fashion obsessed friend. Either/Or. You pick.

Wish we had some of these moves! Not to mention, all looking pretty darn shap. Even 70 years later, they still have modern looks with a sporting edge. Love the way you move!

Makes me feel like being part of the cool crowd.

Could we call it ‘American Classic’? Take a look!

“Immigrant Song” – Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, & Karen O.

Feel the chill of winter’s song. Makes me want to scream!

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, last year’s Academy Award winners for David Fincher’s Facebook film “The Social Network” team up with the Oscar nominated director, and Yeah Yeah Yeah’s front woman Karen-O for a steamy and bizarre ride. Banding together for this year’s “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, the trinity rage through an atmospheric and moody cover of Led Zepellin’s “Immigrant Song”.

Definitely translates some of the bad-ass-ness we’re expecting from the American remake of the Swedish Blockbuster trilogy based on the International Best Selling books. Haven’t read or seen either, but can definitely dig the song! This is rock ‘n’ roll.

Check out The Sun Website for a comprehensive look into the creative process recording the track.
