We found this fantastic feature on one of fashion’s most iconic moments – the “Wild At Heart” spread from the September 1991 issue of American Vogue. The title is an obvious play off David Lynch’s “Wild at Heart“, winner of the Palm D’or at Cannes in 1990, as well as the classic Marlon Brando rebel biker film “The Wild Ones“, and is a vision that keeps reemerging and haunting those who keep fashion close to their heart…
In 1991, photographer Peter Lindbergh shot the elite eight of the worldâs sexiest Supermodels in Brooklyn, NY for the September 1991 issue of American Vogueâ Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz, Helena Christensen, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Karen Mulder, and Stephanie Seymour. The shoot titled âWild at Heartâ was styled by Grace Coddington, featuring looks that were a hi-lo mix of Chanel meets Schottâ and we in the fashion world have never been the same since. This iconic editorial spread continues to inspire and awe to this dayâ over 20 years+ later. The Brit bikes featured throughout really make this workâ several Triumphs, and I think I even spied a BSA in there as well!
