Music Minute: Train to Satanvillle by Gin Gillette

train to satanville 04-indian-rail-160413
Here’s something we wanted to share with our readers to help get us through this midweek hump!  We had such an amazing weekend @TheJunctionFlea this past weekend, we are ready to blow off a little steam! So what a better way to blow off some steam than by taking a train to Satanville!?

This is a rockabilly anthem with a spooky western twist.    We loved the Patsy Cline-esque angst in this woman’s voice, and the Dick Dale groovy guitar playing that get’s us tappin’ our feet.  It may be a tale of going deep into the hellfire, but with a melody as great as this one, we want a ticket to wherever the hell this train is heading! So just click play and let us know what you think.

Today I Woke Up, And Saw Cranes . . .

There were boats, and cranes, and storage containers….

Today I woke up and saw cranes. Been seeing them a lot lately. Sprung out of the Earth, fresh from the soil. They build things for the city.

As the city grows, the cranes move along their way building more things for the city. Paths for trains to the city.

Yet here we are, amongst the cranes basking in our own private industrial oasis.

Sinking ships and railway cars just simply do not compare.

Hailee Steinfled: Miu Miu Meow!

Uh oh, looks like our favourite part-filipina’s gotten herself in some boiling hot water! Seems that the young actress’ latest ad for Italian brand Miu Miu, has come under fire for it’s negligence when it comes to the safety of our youth!

According to the British Advertising Standards Authority, the ad which depicts the 14 year old Actress woefully wiping a tear as she sits perched on a railroad track, is wrecklessly ‘irresponsible’ for ‘showing a child in a hazerdous or dangerous situation’.

Representatives for the Label claim that the True Grit actress ‘could have easily moved from where she was sitting because she was not restrained in any way.”. But that didn’t Stop the ad, shot by acclaimed photographer Bruce Weber, from being pulled in the UK.

This wouldn’t be the first time an ad was deemed too racy for the market across the Pond. We do recall a recent photo of Dakota’s Flower that caused a similar buzz. Is age really the issue? Was there a real danger? Or are we just finding stupid reasons to fault the aspiration of fashion campaigns?
