April Flea! @JunctionFlea Says Goodbye to the Great Hall ! Come to the Last Show on Queen Street!

FLEA_Poster11x17april

The Junction Flea has always been good to us here at The Eye of Faith.

We were lucky enough to have our public debut, and first pop-up, with the Flea in January, and since then, we can’t imagine not being a part of it all. On top of being with our favourite shops in the city, we’ve been able to meet a lot of really fun and cool people in the process, which has really made it all the more worth while.

If you’re in Toronto on April 14th, make sure to stop by The Great Hall and get your fix of amazing hand-picked vintage and handmade realness!

We will be bringing with us our usual mix of timeless, classic, out-of-control menswear at great prices, as well as our secret womenswear finds that you can only currently find from us at each month’s Flea. We’ve also been collecting treasures this month to bring to the flea like vintage art, unusual snapshots, legendary fashion magazine issues, vintage LPs, and 1960s horror comics. We’ve got our eye on the prize, after all (this is The Eye of Faith)!

So be sure to stop by, grab a coffee or some dumplings and find something that was truly meant for you . . .

You can get a preview of what to expect by checking out our Etsy shop, and for more on the Junction Flea, be sure to check out their blog!

This should be big, so don’t miss out!

See you there!

As has been the tradition of our second Sundays of every month, so should yours!

I know you party cats love to sleep until noon (or two) after a long night of partying, but if you can make it out, it definitely will be worth it! Plus, you never know what you might find! Apart from our selection of finds, there are dozens of different vendors to choose from, all of whom bring to the table some of the most unique and cool finds you are to find in the city.

Thanks to Micah Lenehan at Russet & Empire, and Paul Mercer at Smash, the Junction Flea keeps on strong month after month giving the city a munch needed dose of vintage, with all the attitude from our side of the tracks. We always have a ton of fun, and its the only place in the city you can get your palm read, eat handmade dumplings, invest in a burlesque costume, buy exquisite handmade jewelry, look for that new old work of art for above the fireplace, and find wicked hand-picked favourites for your wardrobe all in one place! You gotta check it!

This month’s Flea is being held at THE GREAT HALL at Queen & Dovercourt from 10A-5P, and Admission is 5 BONES*

*BONES = DOLLARS

THE JUNCTION FLEA {January Edition} : We Came, We Saw, We CONQUERED!

January Junction Flea 2013

Veni, Vidi, Vici. That’s what Julius Caesar would say if he helped us out this Sunday at The Junction Flea!

Fortunately/Unfortunately he wasn’t there to lend a helping hand, but so many other people were, making the day an immense success! So many words of encouragement and support,  and so many beautiful and stylish people. It was like dying and going to vintage heaven, a little . . .

The E.O.F. Rules definitely came in handy, and helped get us through the day like magic.

JAN JUNCTION FLEA GREAT HALL

GREAT NEWS!

New and Exciting for 2013! THE EYE OF FAITH is kicking off the New Year with our first public appearance EVER at this month’s JUNCTION FLEA!

This month’s Flea is being held at The Great Hall on Queen & Dovercourt (1087 QUEEN STREET WEST) and runs from 10 AM – 7 PM.

We were so psyched to see Paul Mercer  from SMASH and Micah Lenehan of RUSSET & EMPIRE in the shortlist for The Grid’s annual MENSCHIE AWARDS (Yiddish for “Person of Integrity – E.O.F. RULE # 2), as the masterminds behind The Junction Flea, but we were even more psyched to see the email in our inbox from them to join the ranks!

We will be bringing some of the items online now in the {SHOP}, but we will also be bringing some other treasures we have had waiting in the wings for a while, so best be there to see just what we have in store! Most excitingly, as not to leave anyone out of the fun, we will be showcasing some of our women’s collection! All fine pieces collected and curated by The Eye of Faith.

Also look forward to shopping our collection of vintage books, magazines, pulp fiction, accessories, decor, art and photography! We got a little bit of everything to share if it makes the world a more beautiful place . . .

Music Minute: Machu Picchu – The Strokes (2011)

We can all relate to ambition.  Whether it’s something flying over our heads, or a driving force at our back, we all know there’s a lot left to accomplish when we turn in at night.   Most importantly, we can all relate to being human.  And we do only have a limited amount of time to strive for those clouds.

“Platinum’s on the rise,
Playboy’s in disguise
I’m just trying’ to find…
A mountain I can climb.”

Here at The Eye of Faith, we adore everything vintage and things that are relics, and every so often we tune into what’s happening lately on planet Earth, and rock music is carrying the feet of the youth that are in revolt.

We take a music minute now, to listen to The StrokesMachu Picchu.

Commercial Break: “Don’t Bother to Knock” (1952)

Starring Richard Widmark, Anne Bancroft and the irreplaceable Marilyn Monroe, in her days as a fledgling star on the rise.  We’ve recently had the opportunity to catch up with this feature and rediscover one of Ms Monroe’s truest shining moments in cinematic history.

This role would spark Marilyn’s intrigue with the practice of method acting, and Marilyn’s world would never be the same again.  Stress and nerves would upset the actress so badly, causing her to allegedly vomit before every scene.  Delicate and beautiful, She’d go on to find ways of managing her nerves only to leave herself unhinged and unsettled.

Femme Fatale.
