Music Minute: Train to Satanvillle by Gin Gillette

train to satanville 04-indian-rail-160413
Here’s something we wanted to share with our readers to help get us through this midweek hump!  We had such an amazing weekend @TheJunctionFlea this past weekend, we are ready to blow off a little steam! So what a better way to blow off some steam than by taking a train to Satanville!?

This is a rockabilly anthem with a spooky western twist.    We loved the Patsy Cline-esque angst in this woman’s voice, and the Dick Dale groovy guitar playing that get’s us tappin’ our feet.  It may be a tale of going deep into the hellfire, but with a melody as great as this one, we want a ticket to wherever the hell this train is heading! So just click play and let us know what you think.

Go all night, with the Stripe!

A trend as old as time. Word as old as rhyme. Stripe-tacular Style Stars! This is a second installation of pictures with a bunch of men who love wearing the ever effervescent stripe! We are in a tizzy seeing all of these old pic’s of some of Rock n’ Roll’s icons wearing the coolest clothes around! Always inspiring, never shying away from scrutiny, in the 60s and 70s times were bold so nobody cared how crazy they dressed! Everything and anything was cool! It sure seem’s like the carefree days are back… maybe it’s 2012 but we are seeing a lot of bold fashion out there. So whether we live or die; who gives a damn. We think you should just wear whatever the heck you want. Pinstripe, thick, thin, up, or down, all around, if you wear a stripe you can go all night!

Whether it’s a sleeve or pant leg, there is something bold happening on runways lately from Paris to Milan. Globally, a bold stripe is going further than it has in a long time! For too long, the subtle seersucker has been the epitome of casual chicness. Not, the thicker the better. Stripes are seriously taking over menswear!

Hopefully you guys can track down some kind of stripe that will suit you! Maybe it’s your grandfathers coat, or something you’ll pay way too much for from a designer shop, whatever works! You just cannot fail. People will appreciate your bold decision before anyone tries to lock you up! Besides, never fear. For the Eye is here! Even if the world outside is grim, we’ll help the sunshine in.

Happy Birthday Sherilynn Fenn!

“I prayed… I prayed that you would come. And you did.

-Audrey Horne (to Cooper)

Our favourite resident of Twin Peaks definitely had to be the outrageous, salacious, and stylish Audrey Horne. Here is the most unapologetically cool student at Twin Peaks High School.

Be it, she was a bit of a brat, but it is from the very moment she steps out of her driver’s car in her innocent black/white saddle shoes and exchanges them for a pair of bright red pumps- you’re pretty much sold.

David Lynch definitely has a knack for creating juicy female characters like Audrey Horne, but the auteur is even better at casting them. For all the beatnik jazz, plot twists, and sassy dialogue, it truly comes down to the exquisite acting job by Sherilyn Fenn in bringing this remarkably entertaining character to life (Sherilyn was nominated for an Emmy Award for her portrayal of the reforming bad girl).

“It’s not sometimes realistic to think that something magical can happen, but I think I look for the magic.”

-Sherilyn Fenn

“At the very least, my tastes are out of the ordinary.”

-Sherilyn Fenn.

If it weren’t for her, there would be one less ‘Style Icon’ for us to drool and dribble over, and that’s not cool. Sherilyn Fenn turns 47 today, so make sure to wish her a good one, or at least do the “Audrey Dance”…

” I love this music. Isn’t it too dreamy? “

-Audrey Horne.

Happy Birthday Sherilyn! All the best for 2012!

Sincerely,

-The Eye x

[“Audrey Dance” composed by Angelo Bandelementi and David Lynch.  Thank you iraiem for uploading indeed, such a ‘mythical scene’.  An absolute inspiration.  ]

Flashback: Rock and Roll Circus!

Welcome to the Rock and Roll Circus! On the 11th of December 1968 the Rolling Stones put together this live spectacular event starring themselves and a who’s who of psychedelic style royalty. Joined by the likes of The Who, Taj Mahal, Marianne Faithfull, Jethro Tull, John Lennon and his fiancee Yoko Ono, and Eric Clapton.

We bring you the smallest taste today of this extravaganza starring who better than the Stones themselves. Enjoy ‘You can’t always get what you want’ by the boys. Thanks 2 Albert01824 for the video.

“When I was a kid I joined the circus. I did that. It is true. But it’s not like you think. There was a guy, he had his own circus. His name was Carol Jacobs and he owned it. It was a small thing.”
Christopher Walken

Is this the sort of Circus you might want to run away with??

Serving it up cold, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy.

Please enjoy the morbid moods of Karen Elson, no to mention the pictures. Nothing like a good old fashioned ghost story to take you away from the day. Admit it! You like getting scared . . .

Need to talk about it? Let us know!
