E.O.F. SNAPSHOT OF THE DAY {JANUARY 5, 2018}

+LINDA+

{circa. 1990s}

The party is never over . . .

Come, blessed Dionysus [Dionysos], various nam’d, bull-fac’d,

begot from Thunder, Bacchus [Bakkhos] fam’d.

Bassarian God, of universal might, whom swords, and blood, and sacred rage delight:

In heav’n rejoicing, mad, loud-sounding God, furious inspirer, bearer of the rod:

By Gods rever’d, who dwell’st with human kind, propitious come, with much-rejoicing mind.

[Orphic Hymn to Dionysus]

” . . . Mommy, I Think Daddy is Possessed ! ! ! “

I’ve been saving this photo for some time now…waiting for the perfect moment to share. Now that it’s so close to Halloween, what better time to display this very curious creature…

As you might know, we have a huge collection of vintage photographs that we have archived here at The Eye of Faith – each one possessing a mysteriously lingering quality that we just can’t put our finger on.

This one here is no exception. Everything about it is pure Eye of Faith! Look at this classic family portrait set up in their very own living room. A puzzle has been laid out on the coffee table and the entire family has gathered. The photographer is unknown, but lucky for them they have laid witness to the father’s strange transformation….

And while everybody in the photograph is ready with their best All-American smile, the eldest son can’t hide his fear knowing –

“I THINK MY DAD IS POSSESSED!!!”

+

We don’t know what kind of gore or paranormal experiences may have ensued after the camera clicked, but like many of these old photographs they leave silent clues and messages from beyond as to the lives of the people in them…

This one, only had their names:

Whether or not these individuals are out there still is beyond me…but we can at least appreciate this photograph for what it may or may not be, and with Halloween on our hands we can’t help but haunt our own imagination!

{My Father, My Devil, My Demon, My Life, My Dreams, My Steadfast Nightmares…}

+

That wasn’t the only snapshot we had in our possession portraying haunted men possessed by demonic forces.

The father is the leader of the home, but in these cases, the Devil surely seems to have crept his way through the cracks and into the man you thought you trusted most.

So if you see a shadow come across his face, look into his eyes and hope to God you can save his fragile mortal life. Make sure you announce it to the house, so everyone can take cover. Don’t be afraid to scream it:

+

“I THINK DAD IS POSSESSED!”

+

Don’t be too afraid if this happens….after all, they’re just earth bound spirits trying to attach themselves to something tangible, and in this case it’s unfortunately your Dad. According to therapist, Dr. Edith Fiore, author of The Unquiet Dead, the simplest thing to do is tell the unfriendly spirit to leave immediately!

“Tell him he is harming himself and the person he is possessing.

To encourage the spirit to leave Earth you must tell him his loved ones are waiting for him. Reassure him that when he’s in the hereafter he will be in a perfect body, not a crippled or aged one.

Tell him there’s no such thing as hell – that he will have a wonderful, peaceful existence in the afterlife with everything he wants. Then tell him to go in peace with your blessing.”

+

She also states 9 ways to tell if you, yourself, are possessed. They are:

1. Low energy levels

2. Character shifts or mood swings

3. Inner voice or voices speaking to you

4. Impulsive behavior

5. Memory problems

6. Poor concentration

7. Sudden onset of physical problems

8. A sudden onset of anxiety or bouts of depression (especially after hospitalization or any other trauma)

9. Weight gain with no obvious cause

So be on the look out fine fellows and felines of The Faith! There are other world beings out there just waiting for a nice body to become one with….and don’t think Daddy will come running to help you, especially if he’s the one possessed!

Exsúrgat Deus et dissipéntur inimíci ejus: et fúgiant qui odérunt eum a fácie ejus.

Sicut déficit fumus defíciant; sicut fluit cera a fácie ígnis, sic péreant peccatóres a fácie Dei.

{Let God arise and let His enemies be scattered: and let them that hate Him flee from before His Face!
As smoke vanisheth, so let them vanish away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

PSALM 67 – Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

So muster up some courage and take on those Demons yourself! Kick some ass, even if it is your own father! Your Momma will be quick to Thank You!

Until next time,

{Photoblast} Holy Fashion -Our Holy Grail.

We’ll say a lil’ prayer for you during this Photoblast.  Some symbolism you may recognize, some sights should be new! We’re feeling nostalgic for holier times… Although we’re certain we’d be burned as a Witch!

Thank our goodness, we are alive today to bring you some inspiration to say a little prayer for us! Let us be saved from this unholy hell, and bless’d our soul for whose past we grieve, but who’s future is shining and bright!

We’re sure the pearly gates are more beautiful in Death than any sights on this land, but we’d be lying if we acted as if we didn’t adore seeing Faith in Fashion and splendor in this land.

Sometimes controversially cliche, we don’t get too bored when it comes talk of God and Jesus Christ. We’ll turn our cheek and listen to the street and love what fashion houses are turning out.  We do love throwing on a wide brimmed black hat, Rosary and grabbing a Crucifix for a danced filled night out!

Thankfully we know what’s good fun, and what will get us into trouble.  We may have a Dark Side, but for heaven’s sake, we’re not Demonic! We trust our Angels to guide us along in every bold decision and choice.  And you can trust in The Eye of Faith to Graciously Guide you through the coming days.

Together we shall roam, we shall reach deliverance! Where would we be if it weren’t for our terrific readers? Follow the Eye, and no angel or demon would deny you of being a true divinity.

Dreams, Nightmares and Fantasies

Tuck your ambition where no one will notice, or wear it one your sleeve!  Only you can decide how you’d like to carry on through this life.  This is a destiny you’ve been planning in the pit of your own subconscious for many nights now!  Deem yourself worthy of being a hero and envision the future waiting around the corner, your destiny is your own to fulfill.

“A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”
Oscar Wilde

But be forewarned, the demons come out at night to play and to feast.  They harvest our hopes and turn dreams to waking anxiety.   A dream has turned to nightmare in what seemed like a flash, now arousing feelings horror and distress.  But you are more powerful than creature of the dark.  Fight or flight? Do we deem ourselves worthy of accomplishing the many feats which plague us?  Imperfectly conscious, the truth will be told.

“Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.”
Edgar Allan Poe

There is an energy within our dreams which fuels our ambitions.  A strong desire to accomplish more than which greats us each morning, leaving us yearning for more each night.  A fantasy of a richer tomorrow, where dreams are bright, where we won’t see a fright.  We must battle the darkness as it comes to reap our hopes and prayers.

The demons are listening,  we must cast away any doubt!  Stay strong in our fantasies and remember, don’t be afraid of the doubt.

Glamour, Glitter, Fashion, and Pills!

The glamour, the fashion, the fame! The lives of the rich and famous sure seems fabulous, but it seems clear to us there is a lot of pressure once you’re on top. Everybody else is doing it… you may think it would help you network, or maybe feel more relaxed.   But when it comes down to it, there are too many ‘yes men’ in this alienating industry. It’s no surprise that substance abuse, be it alcohol or chemical, has become far too prevalent in our time. But pop that pill! If it’s perscribed, it must mean that it’s tailor made for your condition… whatever that condition may be, right?

We want to take you back to a time of “female hysteria” in the early 1900’s, when women were not only condemned as being over emotional and erratic, but the most plausible solution is that these women had cravings their husbands were not fulfilling. So naturally the cure for a over hyped women’s libido was to get ‘some’. Now, its the ‘what’ of the ‘some’ you may be asking, will she ‘get’?? Well, back in the day, the good doctor only needed his own two hands, maybe even just a finger, to help satisfy a women’s cravings. This was the logic then, though most doctors are less hands on today.

Now we look back on this with a horrendous idea of what our society was, but the reality is, it was not too long ago!! These women trusted their doctors, who of course are educating themselves daily, constantly learning new techniques, and being fed tactics from ‘higher up’ declaring the latest craze to hit the medical world. Be it a snake acid injected into the skin to help alleviate age, penicillin, or some kind of sedative promised to kill or calm whatever isnt letting you ‘feel good’ so you can feel a hell of a lot better feeling nothing at all!

Anxiety and depression are curable with a pill, if you live in North America.  Yet astonishingly in poorer nations where water and food is a luxury, the population riddled with anxiety doesn’t seem to exist. We’re so distracted by our worlds innovations, we’re loosing the concept of finding simple joy.

We all have witnessed someone we love battle with their own content.  We are bombarded by countless pressures telling us that what we have isn’t enough. Whether it’s the stresses of our mundane work day, or a quiet ambition driving us to be the perfect version of ourselves, we have become brainwashed to believe that it’s wrong to be unhappy.

In truth, its the up’s and downs of our lives which give us humility. But answers are handed out far too quickly in the form of a prescription. Sure seems like the best remedy for a mild case of celebrity is some kind of a numbing pain killer.

The influence of our prescription bound society is not only evident through tragedy but also found in modern art works.  Back in 2002, Lullaby Spring, a humungous display of  6136 hand painted pills by Damien Hirst recently sold for whopping 22.8 Million Dollars. More recently, we can find work by Beverly Fishman, where pill play has a major role in the efficacy of the Art piece called “Pill Spill“.

We are not suggesting a complete rebellion against the North American healthcare system (necessarily), but we do suggest readers look deeper than their prescription slip. Often if investigated, the ‘discovery’ or ‘root’ of so many modern ailments, are shrouded in as much mystery as the illness itself. It’s disheartening to think that a system which is structured to take care of us, is actually striking fear into us, and draining us of all logic and dollars.

Ingesting something synthetic asking for a cure will not save us, we must embrace what is true to our experiences as we go through them. Trust that tomorrow will be a brand new day.

R.I.P. We love you Whitney.
