{CHECK OUT} I Heart Hamilton’s Kristin Archer Visits The Eye of Faith HQ!

We were so pleased to have Kristin Archer of local blog I Heart Hamilton come by The Eye of Faith Headquarters to peruse our record collection for her upcoming set at Discography {Session 48} this Sunday at The Baltimore House that we decided to document some of her finds on video, and pick her brain a bit on how she has evolved from doing her blog and radio show to DJing alongside some of the city’s best!

We’ve been lucky enough to be featured on her radio show for 93.3 CFMU twice, and she also took some prime perspectives of our pop-up basement shop, amongst other things, she has been so supportive of what we do, that its high time we turned the spotlight!

Check out the video above and get a little sneak peak at what’s in store, and get to know this fabulous woman!

{E.O.F. Music Minute} Valentine’s Day-The incomparable David Bowie!

david bowie
So in case you all didn’t realize already, we’re vintage obsessed.

Naturally, we grew up to anything inspiration with a Rock n’ Roll edge, and a revolutionary flair.  David Bowie was a perfect fit for us to call our Idol.  Looking past his music alone, his gender bending outfits, and diversity in his films – this man is astronomically talented!

We know he has many MANY amazing tracks and stellar looks ahead of him in his career for his fans to look forward to.  With films like Labyrinth and The Prestige, The Batman from Gotham City and The Man Who Fell to Earth, how can you NOT be a huge Bowie fan??

It may seem a bit soon to be posting a song about St. Valentine’s day on any other day than Valentine’s day, but anybody with half a braincell would realize rebels don’t care about dates!

Realizing this, David Bowie would obviously feel inclined to release a song about love and St. Valentine in the middle of summer.  We love him for that, and can relate.

We find it very romantic, and could this be viewed as an homage to the ever so striking love of his life/supermodel Iman? Or just a great song with a fantastic melody to make his fans swoon and melt?  Either way, to be lost in a mood of romance and harmony we are feeling very satisfied.

So check out his latest single, Valentine’s day and let us know what you think!

Can’t wait to hear from you!

Look for more articles to come about the Master of Music, David Bowie.

Vintage Valentine’s Day Fashion + Life Crush: Joanne Woodward & Paul Newman

EOF- Paul newman and joanne woodward - a couple who toke together stay together too - vintage valentines day fashion idol crushes

Of all the Hollywood stars who hitched a ride with each other  in the highway of life, our most beloved, and favourite of them all has to be the All-American dream team of Joanne Woodward & Paul Newman.

Never a dull moment with the two. Despite their classic appearance, the duo definitely display some spunk in their relationship. When you go through pictures of the two, they are always laughing, or hugging, kissing, playing games – this is the kind of couple everyone wishes they were in their life.

And you know, they never ever did divorce (unlike so many other Hollywood heat-of-the-moment marriages). Instead, they were loyally by each other’s side all the way to the Newman’s death in 2008. The two would even open a hospital for children in their lifetime together, as well as starring in 10 films together (and 5 more that Newman directed but did not appear in). Yes indeed, there were quite the power couple.

In fact, before marrying each other, Newman was already a married man, and Woodward was dating the Dapper Dan of the Decade, Gore Vidal (the iconic writer and style aficionado). Vidal later claimed the entire relationship was a ruse to distract and entice Paul Newman to Woodward. I guess it worked, because it wasn’t long before Newman was filing for divorce and making the final arrangements to work it out with the talented Ms. Woodward.

The two both won Oscars: Newman in 1986 for “The Color of Money“, and Woodward in 1958 for “The Three Faces of Eve” (sort of a 1950s version of “The United States of Tara” – a great performance).

Yes indeed, it’s like they had everything. On top of it all, they always seemed to display such class and dignity. Both their style is never over-the-top, and especially Newman is always going for simple classics in his wardrobe.
