Fly Me To The Moon! 1967 Cosak by Dormeuil Mens Suit Advertising Campaign

The competition for mens suiting was fierce throughout the 1960s – an absolute essential piece of every working man’s wardrobe, while also a time that signalled the decline of this timely tradition.

More than ever, ad men and women were looking for new and exciting ways to capture the attention of dapper gentlemen around the world.

This 1967 Ad Campaign for Cosak by classic French textile company Dormeuil displays the fun they had doing just that!

Obviously inspired by James Bond or any of the other number of mens genre media / plus the overall futurist movement of the 60s; the campaign features a well-dressed man in several of the classic suit designs alongside a bombshell blonde, and it appears they are prepping to go to space…or are in space already? Not quite sure all the exact subtleties of the scenario…its all very entertaining and more than that – stylish as ever!

These images appeared in Tailor & Cutter magazine, and were found courtesy of Voices of East Anglia.

We were drawn to these images while doing some research finding we were lucky enough to have a Dormeuil cloth suit of our own. We recently uploaded it into the {SHOP} so click here to check out the listing, or scroll below for a quick look!

High Flying Adored – Drawings for the ‘Playboy Pleasure Hub’ Released

Coming to a galaxy near you! The suits at Playboy Magazine are having fun showing off their vision for the wildest space odyssey many of us would be lucky to encounter in our lifetime. A ‘Playboy Pleasure Hub’- yes, seriously. A ‘Playboy Pleasure Hub’: this club in space may just bring a new definition to that “Mile High Club”.

Heffner has always been the innovator, staying a few steps ahead of the competition at all times. Having come from a time when by 2001 we were supposed to be ruling the solar system with advanced space colonies, and the help of highly sophisticated artificial intelligence, the prospect for making the ‘Playboy Pleasure Hub’ a reality is finally plausible.

With rich digital illustrations by space travel enthusiast Adam Wells, the concept really comes to life with all the bright colours, sleek but organic futuristic lines, and plenty of fun space recreation to be had.

And while the idea of consumer space travel is becoming more and more in vogue, headed by think-bright entrepeneur Richard Branson of Virgin Corporations, it could be years before any of us can even begin to imagine taking off to the dark side of the moon. But really, you can book your trip today with Virgin Gallactic.

In the scheme of things, it’s not even too expensive to make the epic leap ($200,000 from Virgin Gallactic, starting with a $20,000 deposit) but some red flags have to be raised when you start imagining the fuel needed to make these frivolous trips from humble planet Earth to science fiction future fantasy! Is it really worth it?

We hardly have enough fuel as it is, and after the oil crisis of the 1970s you would think we would have learned a thing or two since then. Until we can implement more plentiful, affordable, and renewable sources of energy (ex. solar, wind, free-energy), maybe all our trips into the far reaches of our solar system should be halted- no matter how sexy it’s supposed to be.
