Lost in a Paradise: {WWII Memories} Vintage Vernacular from Another Earth

This is a short clip from Terrence Malick’s “The Thin Red Line” which never ceases to inspire and engage the mind and soul with its thoughtful narration and invigorating visuals that take the viewer through the complex voyage of a soldier to war hidden by the beauty of “paradise“. . .

It really must have been something to find yourself in a strange new world, another Earth far away from the hometown you left months before. You might never want to leave. You might hope to be left on a deserted island for the rest of your days; left alone by the complications of society.

Malick does a great job at creating this world, and you can get an even cooler glimpse into this world by digging into the world of vintage vernacular.

There are treasures to find. These memories of some lost paradise always seem to be like faded remnants of some beautiful black and white dream. . .

Here’s a few to quench your thirst! Soak it up, and bring this lost paradise with you wherever you go.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s Trailer for ‘The Master’ Drops!

A few months ago we were excited to find a series of photographs taken behind the scenes of Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest creation, ‘The Master’. Not much seems to be known about the film’s plot, or it’s possible themes. But now that the Weinstein Co. has premiered footage of the film at the Cannes Film Festival (along with Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’), new conversations and buzz has definitely exploded, and propelled the film to the forefront of “Must-See” lists for cinephiles all around the Globe.

And while many of us are not able to make the trip to the elusive Film Festival in the south of France, a tantalizing teaser trailer has dropped full of clues and mystery. Are these men stuck on an island? What is Joaquin Phoenix drinking? Is he crazy?  Well, of course he is!

It will be good to get the full scoop come the end of the year when the film is set for release. One thing is for sure, the good ole’ Phoenix we know and love seems to be back! Just watch how his eyes jitter, and he bites at that dialogue – this might be his most shining moment he’s had in a while.

[SOURCE]

This will be Paul Thomas Anderson’s first film since his triumphant 2007 film ‘There Will Be Blood’, exposing the crooked evils of the American Dream bathed in dust, sunlight, and crude oil  (“I Drink Your Milkshake!”).  The film has already left a legacy for Daniel Day Lewis, who won an Academy Award for playing the film’s anti-hero, as well as the dark and dusty American fashions that you can spot today on many runways.  Anderson has never been one to follow the status-quoe , so expect the unexpected with his latest!

Check out the undoubted Paradise Found inspiration in the middle of the teaser! Foresight! We are not Style ORACLISTS, for nothing! Seriously, though – don’t think you won’t be seeing that again this summer!

Fight! Fight! Fight! FIGHT!
