Commercial Break: Since when was Kermit White??

Before Kermit was green, America was still seeing in black and white! Check out this collection of Wilkins Coffee Commercials that may mark the beginning of the worlds love for Jim Hensons‘ Muppets. From 1957 to 1961, Henson made 179 commercials for the company.

Very humble beginnings for the great Mr. Henson. We wonder if he had any clue what he would go on to achieve. Shout out to Pickachu4352 for the vid.

Hailee Steinfled: Miu Miu Meow!

Uh oh, looks like our favourite part-filipina’s gotten herself in some boiling hot water! Seems that the young actress’ latest ad for Italian brand Miu Miu, has come under fire for it’s negligence when it comes to the safety of our youth!

According to the British Advertising Standards Authority, the ad which depicts the 14 year old Actress woefully wiping a tear as she sits perched on a railroad track, is wrecklessly ‘irresponsible’ for ‘showing a child in a hazerdous or dangerous situation’.

Representatives for the Label claim that the True Grit actress ‘could have easily moved from where she was sitting because she was not restrained in any way.”. But that didn’t Stop the ad, shot by acclaimed photographer Bruce Weber, from being pulled in the UK.

This wouldn’t be the first time an ad was deemed too racy for the market across the Pond. We do recall a recent photo of Dakota’s Flower that caused a similar buzz. Is age really the issue? Was there a real danger? Or are we just finding stupid reasons to fault the aspiration of fashion campaigns?
