Since the dawn of civilization, man has been hard at work building the great cities we live in, gathering the food we eat, and finding the resources we need to stay afloat on this mad wild planet. It’s never been easy, but someone’s got to do it. So next time you’re walking down the sidewalk, or taking a stroll down the grocery isle, save a thought for the hoards of men and women who have put their blood, sweat, and tears into making the vision of this world a reality for us all.

We too have been hard at work, here at The Eye of Faith, gathering our wares, making connections, and always delving deep into our well of inspiration for new musings for all of our devoted friends and followers. So what better an inspiration for our STYLE {WISE} Series, than the world of work. We all know it, and there’s no doubt that this realm has become a constant staple in the minds of style aficionados worldwide.

From the bandanas and kerchiefs (to cover the mouth from dust, dirt, and other particles), the jaunty caps and fedoras (to shield the eyes from the sun), the heavy work boots (to tread the rugged land), the flannel shirts (to keep one warm in the chill), and of course, the ultimate gift of the working man – DENIM. Where would we be without it? You can spend upwards of $1000 these days for a pair of jeans, but over a hundred years ago this extra strong material in all its hues of blue was the fabric of the working man who couldn’t afford to not wear this shell of durability.

Look around today, and you’ll still see all the staples and conventions of classic mens workwear. It’s everywhere you look these days, even with women’s clothing. In fact, it’s kind of a craze in many places (most especially Japan and Korea), to get that one-of-a-kind authentic vintage workwear piece that will elevate your outfit above and beyond anything you could find at the mall or high street.
